中国的工业

　　1949年中华人民共和国成立以后，工业发展迅速，现在已建立了独立完整的现代化工业体系，拥有钢铁、化工、机械、纺织、电子、航空航天等所有的工业门类。

　　1949年以前，中国的工业大部分都分布在沈阳、大连、天津、青岛、上海、广州等东部沿海城市，广大的中、西部地区，除武汉、重庆等少数城市外，工业水平都非常低。

　　1949年以后，中国工业的地区分布发生了很大的变化，已形成了辽宁省中、南部地区的重工业基地；以北京—天津—唐山为中心的综合性工业基地；以上海—南京—杭州为中心的全国最大的综合性工业基地；珠江三角洲地区以广州、深圳为主的综合性工业基地。

　　Industry

　　Since the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949, industry has been developing fast so that an independent and complete modern industrial system has now been established. All industrial categories are represented, such as iron, chemicals, machine building, textile, electronics, aviation and aerospace and so on.

　　Before 1949, most Chinese industrial enterprises were distributed in Shenyang, Dalian, Tianjin, Qingdao, Shanghai and Guangzhou along the east coast. The large areas in the middle and west of China, excluding Wuhan, Chongqing, etc., had fewer industries by comparison.

　　Since 1949, great changes have taken place in the distribution of industry, forming a heavy industrial base in the middle and south of Liaoning Province; a comprehensive industrial base focusing on Beijing, Tianjin and Tangshan; the largest comprehensive industrial base focusing on Shanghai, Nanjing and Hangzhou; and a comprehensive industrial base centered on Guangzhou and Shenzhen in the Pearl River Delta.
