中国的农业

　　中国是一个农业大国，同时也是世界上农业发展历史最悠久的国家之一，水稻等主要农作物都起源于中国。

　　中国政府十分重视农业生产，不断加大农业投入，积极进行农田水利基本建设，从而提高了农业生产的现代化水平，使农业取得了辉煌的成就。最突出的表现是：中国仅依靠占世界不足10%的耕地，养活了占世界1/5以上的人口。

　　中国各种农产品的产量增长很快，谷物、肉类、棉花、油菜、花生、水果的总产量均居世界第一位。但是，由于人口数量多，人均占有的农产品数量较少。

　　Agriculture

　　China is a big agricultural country with one of the longest histories of agricultural development. Crops such as rice originated in China.

　　The Chinese government has been paying close attention to agriculture, increasing investment and actively carrying out irrigation and water conservancy capital construction to speed up the modernization of agricultural production. This has led to great achievements, the most outstanding being that, with less than ten percent of the world's cultivatable land, China manages to feed over one-fifth of the world's population.

　　China's output of various agricultural products has a fast growth rate. The total output of grains, meat, cotton, rape, peanuts and fruits tops the world. However, due to the large population, the amount of the agricultural products per capita is small.
