中国的经济

　　中国自1978年实行改革开放的政策以来，经济获得了持续快速的发展。目前经济总量已位居世界前列。其中，粮食、棉花、肉类、布匹、钢、原煤、电视机等工农业产品的产量尤为突出；原子能、生物技术、计算器技术、航空航天技术等方面也已经达到或接近世界先进水平。

　　中国改革开放以后，从海外引进了大量的人才、资金和技术，大大加快了经济发展的步伐。预计到21世纪中叶，中国将基本上实现现代化，达到中等发达国家的水平。 中国是一个人口大国，按人口平均的经济水平还不高，仍然属于低收入国家，与发达国家相比，还存在较大的差距。中国经济发展水平的地区差异较大，东部沿海地区比较发达，而西部地区相对落后。中国正在进行西部大开发，以加快西部地区经济发展的步伐。

　　Since China launched its reform and opening up policy in 1978, the economy has been developing at a continuously high rate. The industrial and agricultural products of grain, cotton, meat, cloth, steel, raw coal and TV sets have grown markedly; and the technologies of atomic energy, biology, computers, aviation and aerospace and so on have reached the world level.

　　Since the reform and opening up, China has introduced a lot of talented personnel, capital and technologies from other countries, greatly accelerating economic growth. It is estimated that by the middle of the 21st century, China will be generally modernized and reached the level of the middle-developed countries. China is a country with a large population. Calculated according to per capita income, the economic level is still low, and there still exists a fairly large gap with the developed countries. China's economic level varies according to region. The areas along the coast in eastern China are rather developed, while those in the west are backward. China is carrying out a western development plan to promote rapid economic growth in that region.
