鄱阳湖 Poyang Lake
Poyang Lake, the largest freshwater lake in China, is located in northern Jiangxi Province, and connected to the Yangtze River in the north. It has an area of 3,583 km2.
The broad Poyang Lake, together with Stone Bell Mountain at the entrance of the lake, Mt. Lushan on its banks and the surging Yangtze River, forms a splendid picture. The lake is very broad and rich in fish resources. It is also an ideal place for white cranes, swans and many other rare birds to spend their winters due to its humid weather. A terrace has now been built on the side of the lake for viewing the migratory birds, and it has become one of the great scenic spots in the area.
